The Svala story: it all started with a need
Passionate outdoorsman Kyösti Svala went cross-country skiing in deep, untracked snow, ran marathons and crept into the forest in the small hours to photograph birds. Cotton shirts didn’t wick moisture, and the technical shirts of the 1990s were stiff. Kyösti wanted an undershirt that would wick moisture away from his skin, hold in warmth and stretch as he moved. There was no such thing.
So what does a Finn do then? He decides to make it himself.
